Rules of Conduct

The following are examples of unacceptable and non-tolerated behavior, including but not limited to:

• Speaking in loud and lengthy conversations, including via cell phones or video chats, or listening to music or video without headphones

• Creating a disturbance in any manner that interferes with other library users and staff’s well-being or personal space

• Using abusive, threatening or harassing speech, physical acts, or tones

• Making threatening gestures or using profanity or inappropriate language

• Blocking aisles, pathways or entrances or otherwise preventing access to areas of the Library.

• Tampering with or stealing library materials, software or equipment

• Sexual misconduct, such as indecent exposure, touching or harassing patrons or staff

• Sleeping, lounging, dining or using the library space for any other unintended manner

• Leaving personal property unattended for extended periods of time

• Neglecting to supervise a service animal

• Using the computers for personal purposes such as surfing the web, video-chatting, watching YouTube, Netflix or other streaming services, checking e-mail or social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and the like, accessing pornographic, obscene, or hateful materials
